SpanishPal: AI Conversation Tutor ("the App") is published by Migdio Media LLC ("we," "us"). The App is a Spanish language-learning tool that uses AI to put you in a real back-and-forth spoken conversation with an AI tutor named Elena. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.
The App provides language-learning and conversation-practice content only. It is not professional language instruction, language certification preparation, or a substitute for qualified human instruction. It is not therapy or medical advice.
SpanishPal's core feature is powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic. When you speak in the App, your voice is transcribed (via Deepgram) and your conversation text is sent to Anthropic's systems to generate Elena's responses. Voice output is generated by OpenAI's text-to-speech API.
This means your conversation audio and text is transmitted to the following third-party services for processing:
These transmissions occur each time you have a conversation with Elena. The App is not an on-device or "private AI" product. Each conversation involves sending data to the above third-party services.
The App stores the following in Supabase (our cloud database provider) linked to your user account:
Supabase processes data in accordance with their privacy policy. Data is stored with row-level security so only your account can access your conversations.
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store); we never receive or store your payment-card details. To deliver and verify subscriptions, the App uses RevenueCat. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes transaction and receipt information to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat’s handling is governed by its privacy policy.
The App uses PostHog for product analytics (event tracking such as onboarding completions, conversation starts, and subscription events). PostHog receives anonymized or pseudonymized usage events. No personally identifiable conversation content is sent to PostHog.
If you enable reminders, the App may schedule local notifications on your device. If you provide notification permission, we may also send remote push notifications related to your subscription or account. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
To request deletion of your account and all associated conversation history, email support@migdiomedia.com with the subject "Data deletion request." We will process your request within 30 days. To stop subscription billing, cancel through your Apple account subscription settings.
The App is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
